Information for StudentsFact SheetsTo keep international students up to date with changes in legislation, conditions of student visas, permanent residency requirements and other areas of concern for international students, the NLC is currently compiling a Fact Sheet Library. Please see below.
For queries about Fact Sheet information please contact us at There are also other websites that contain extremely useful information for international students. Legal Advice, Obligations and Help For International StudentsRMIT Union has compiled information on work rights, students and the law and also information on safety for women international students. The links to these are below: http://www.rmit.edu.au/workrights/ http://union.rmit.edu.au/legal/knowyourrights/index.html http://union.rmit.edu.au/legal/keepitsafe/index.html In addition to these fantastic sources of information, in 2003 the RMIT legal service produced a booklet called: "FAIR GO" - A Guide to the Law in Australia for International Students. Students could contact RMIT Student Union for a copy of this booklet. Unfortunately the RMIT Legal Service is no longer open due to VSU funding cuts. The University of Queensland Student Support Services runs an orientation program that also highlights student safety and legal obligations, employment information and obligations, and student health. The UQ SSS website link is below with online information for students. |
