National Liaison Committee For International Students In Australia Incorporated (NLC) and Overseas Students Association Incorporated (OSA) have joined forces to establish STUDENTeam through the merge of existing teams of both organisations.

STUDENTeam is commencing formal operation from February 1, 2008. All of the related programs supported by NLC and OSA are being transferred to STUDENTeam. Any enquiries made to NLC and OSA shall be forwarded to our National Executive Office.

The operations of STUDENTeam are being focused on three main areas: advocacy, administration and arena.

On national level, NLC is the voice of the Overseas student community for advocacy and lobbying. NLC was formed in 1986 through the amalgamation of various state-based international student organisations across Australia to combat the introduction of the Overseas Student Full-Fee Paying Program.

The grand purpose of NLC is to uplift the spirits of Overseas students for self awareness and culture identity by demanding equal rights & respect and increasing fair share of representation & influences in all relevant Australian education institutions.

On campus level, OSA continues to provide much-needed student services and organise event-based activities to support its members and all of the Overseas students on campus. The origin of OSA can be traced back to the student organisations in the local Chinese community at the end of 1980s and early 1990s.

The mission of OSA is dedicated to the advancement of the social, cultural and economic well-being of all Overseas Students in Australia by sponsoring and engaging in various OSActivities for the benefit of the Overseas student community.

With over 40 years of combined history and heritage serving a community of more than 400,000 Overseas students nationwide, NLC is working with education institutions, government agencies and relevant organisations to continuously play the vital role as the peak representative body for all Overseas students in Australia.

We welcome contributions from all stakeholders in the Australian international education industry to help build an even stronger community in the years ahead.
