The National Office Bearers of NLC are the National Convenor (NC), National General Secretary (NGS), the National Campaigns Coordinator (NCC), the National Women’s Officer(NOW), the National Publications Officer(NPO) and the National Queer Officer(NQO). To summarise, the NC is the official spokesperson for the NLC and is responsible for the overall supervision of the organisation. The NGS deals with all administrative and financial affairs for the organisation. The NCC handles campaigns run by NLC about or for international students welfare. The Women’s Officer represents women international students and the NQO is responsible for representing queer international students. The National Publication Officer works in conjunction with the National Campaigns Coordinator and is a member of the National Campaigns/Education Committee. The main job of the PO is to coordinate the production of NLCLINK and also act as the point of contact, if any organizations want NLC to contribute to their magazine, newsletter etc. The non-official positions of NLC are the Administrative Executive Officer (AEO), the International Research Officer (IRO), the Internal Auditor (IA) and Public Officer (PO). The AEO is a part-time paid position to assist the NC and NGS in general administrative duties for NLC. The IRO is a part time paid position and researches international student issues. The Internal Auditor audits NLC accounts and submits a report for the National Office Bearers. There are two decision-making bodies for NLC, the National Conference and the National Executive. The National Conference is the supreme decision making body of NLC. Held once a year in one of the states or territories, this conference is known as NLCAC and it is made up delegates representing their ISOs from the affiliated campuses throughout Australia. During the NLCAC, National Office Bearers are elected. The National Executive consists of the National Office Bearers and all Branch Convenors. The National Executive meets four times a year for face-to-face meetings. During the meetings, updates and issues and the direction of NLC is discussed. National Office Bearers |
